Öberg Nutrition is founded by Lauren Lamendola-Öberg, MS, a graduate-trained clinical nutrition practitioner pursuing the Certified Nutrition Specialist® (CNS®) credential. My approach is grounded in evidence-based nutrition science, comprehensive assessment, individualized education, and ongoing support.
The CNS pathway is an advanced clinical nutrition credential that requires a qualifying graduate degree in nutrition, extensive supervised clinical experience, and successful completion of a rigorous board examination. This training emphasizes the application of nutrition science to individualized clinical assessment and evidence-based nutrition care.
My approach looks beyond food intake alone. A comprehensive assessment may include your health and nutrition history, laboratory findings, medications and supplements, anthropometrics and body composition, gastrointestinal health, metabolic and glycemic patterns, family history, lifestyle, sleep, stress, physical activity, and relevant genetic or genomic information when available and clinically appropriate. These pieces are considered together to better understand the nutritional and metabolic factors that may be influencing your health.
Rather than applying a standardized diet or one-size-fits-all protocol, I use this information to develop an individualized strategy and, when appropriate, continue to assess progress and refine recommendations over time.
Just as importantly, education is central to my work. I want you to understand not only what I am recommending, but why I am recommending it and how to realistically incorporate it into your life. The goal is thoughtful, evidence-based nutrition care that ultimately gives you greater knowledge, confidence, and independence in managing your health.

No. The Certified Nutrition Specialist® (CNS®) and Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN/RD) are distinct professional credentials with different education, training, certification, and state-licensure pathways.
My graduate training is in clinical human nutrition, with an emphasis on applying nutrition science to individualized assessment and intervention. My practice is intentionally designed around a concierge, collaborative model of care—one that extends beyond scheduled appointments. Depending on the program selected, clients have daily or weekly access to me between sessions, creating an ongoing practitioner–client dialogue and allowing for real-time progress monitoring and refinement as recommendations are implemented in everyday life.
I often describe my role as providing scaffolding: the structure, education, accessibility, and support that help bridge the gap between knowing what to do and successfully implementing it. Rather than waiting until the next scheduled appointment to address a question, barrier, or changing need, this collaborative model allows us to identify what is working, troubleshoot what is not, reinforce education, and progressively refine the strategy as your care evolves.
Importantly, this scaffolding is not intended to create dependence. As your knowledge, skills, and confidence grow, the scaffolding gradually becomes less necessary. The goal is to equip you with the understanding and practical tools to make informed nutrition decisions increasingly independently and confidently.
The result is a more responsive, individualized, and collaborative approach to nutrition care—comprehensive assessment, personalized education, structured follow-up, ongoing communication, and progressive refinement rather than a series of isolated nutrition visits.
The appropriate nutrition professional depends on your individual needs, medical circumstances, location, and the scope of care required. When a client's needs extend beyond my professional or legal scope, I collaborate with or refer to the appropriate healthcare professional.

The difference is not simply what happens during an appointment. It what happens between appointments and throughout the course of care.
Öberg Nutrition was intentionally built as a high-touch, concierge-style practice. We begin with comprehensive assessment and then move through education, implementation, monitoring, and refinement. You are not simply handed recommendations and expected to figure out how to make them work on your own.
My role is to help you understand the why behind your plan, translate nutrition science into practical decisions, identify barriers as they arise, and progressively give you the knowledge and skills to manage your nutrition with greater confidence and independence.
-
Because accessibility is part of the service.
Öberg Nutrition is intentionally structured as a concierge practice rather than a high-volume clinic. Maintaining a limited caseload allows me to devote appropriate time to preparation, research, individualized education, follow-up, and ongoing client support.
Growth matters to the business—but not at the expense of the level of care the practice was created to provide.
-
Because knowing what to do and understanding why and how to do it are very different things.
I believe education is an essential part of sustainable nutrition care. I want you to understand your physiology, the rationale behind your recommendations, and how to apply those recommendations in real life.
The goal is not to make you dependent on a nutrition practitioner indefinitely. It is to give you the tools to make increasingly informed decisions for yourself.

Progress is monitored throughout your care rather than assessed only at the beginning and end of a program. Depending on your individual goals and clinical needs, we may follow changes in nutrition intake, symptoms, energy, gastrointestinal function, sleep, physical activity, body composition and anthropometric measures, metabolic markers, laboratory findings, and other relevant health indicators.
Body weight alone provides a very limited picture of progress. A number on the scale cannot distinguish between changes in body fat, lean muscle mass, body water, or normal fluctuations related to hydration, glycogen, sodium intake, gastrointestinal contents, and hormonal changes. For this reason, when body composition is relevant to your goals, weight is considered within a much broader clinical picture rather than treated as the primary measure of success.
Progress also extends beyond numbers. We evaluate how you feel, how your body is functioning, how well your nutrition strategy is working in daily life, barriers to implementation, confidence, sustainability, and your ability to independently apply what you are learning.
Follow-up sessions allow us to bring these pieces together, identify what is working and what may need adjustment, and refine your nutrition and lifestyle strategy as your needs evolve.
The goal is not simply to measure progress, but to use meaningful measures of progress to guide the next phase of care.
-
Because meaningful personalization requires more than a brief review of what you eat.
The Foundational Assessment allows us to examine your health and nutrition history, lifestyle, current concerns and goals, supplements and medications, body-composition or anthropometric information when appropriate, and other factors relevant to your nutrition plan.
That information becomes the foundation for your personalized wellness roadmap and initial recommendations rather than starting with assumptions or a generic protocol.
-
Because you are not simply purchasing appointment time.
Öberg Nutrition's structured programs provide a continuum of individualized care that extends beyond the time we spend together during scheduled sessions. Depending on the program selected, your care may include comprehensive assessment, individualized strategy development, review of relevant health information and laboratory findings, preparation and research, personalized education and resources, progress monitoring, ongoing refinement of recommendations, and between-session support.
Program pricing reflects the time, preparation, individualized attention, professional expertise, accessibility, and continuity of care involved throughout the course of your program—not simply the number of face-to-face appointments.
-
Yes. Öberg Nutrition offers a Pay-in-4 option for eligible programs, allowing the cost of care to be divided into four payments rather than paid in full at the outset.
Payment options are presented transparently before enrollment so you can select the arrangement that works best for you. There is never pressure to enroll in a higher level of care than you need; the appropriate service is determined by your goals, needs, and desired level of support.
-
Not necessarily. New clients may begin with the Foundational Assessment, which provides a comprehensive evaluation and personalized direction.
For clients who would benefit from more structured implementation and ongoing support, the Metabolic Restoration or Precision Metabolic Optimization programs provide a longer continuum of care. Established clients may also continue with Ongoing Metabolic Wellness when periodic support, accountability, and refinement are helpful.
Your recommended level of support is based on your needs—not on placing every client into the largest program.
-
Sometimes specific meal structure can be useful, but my work goes well beyond telling you exactly what to eat.
We may work on food selection, nutrient adequacy, meal composition and timing, practical meal strategies, behavior and lifestyle factors, supplementation when appropriate, and the underlying barriers preventing you from implementing your plan.
The objective is to create a strategy you can actually understand, execute, and sustain rather than temporarily follow someone else's menu.
-
When appropriate, supplements or additional laboratory information may be considered as part of a broader nutrition assessment. They are tools—not the foundation of every client's plan.
Recommendations are individualized and evidence-informed, and laboratory testing is handled according to applicable state law and professional scope. When testing, diagnosis, or medical management requires another licensed healthcare professional, I will coordinate or refer appropriately.
-
Absolutely. Collaborative care is an important part of the Öberg Nutrition model.
Nutrition does not exist in isolation from medical care. When appropriate and with your permission, I welcome communication with physicians and other members of your healthcare team. If something arises that is outside my scope, referral is part of responsible care—not a limitation of good nutrition practice.
-
Very possibly. Many clients do not need more nutrition information—they need help determining which information actually applies to them.
The internet has made nutrition information extraordinarily accessible. It has not necessarily made nutrition easier to navigate. My role is to evaluate the evidence, place it within the context of your individual circumstances, and help turn information into a coherent and realistic strategy.
-
Not by default.
Öberg Nutrition emphasizes individualized, sustainable nutrition rather than unnecessary restriction, food fear, or rigid rules. Therapeutic dietary modifications may sometimes be appropriate, but they should have a clear rationale and be implemented thoughtfully.
The objective is not dietary perfection. It is a way of eating that supports your health and remains workable in your actual life.

The complimentary 30-minute Discovery Consultation is an opportunity for us to determine whether Öberg Nutrition is the right fit for you.
We'll discuss what you're looking for, the type of support you may need, and which service—if any—may be appropriate. Because this is a discovery conversation rather than a clinical appointment, individualized nutrition recommendations are not provided during the consultation.
